James has taught guitar for over ten years. He remains passionate about education and is himself a career musician. Enhancing his own musical ability with concerts and competitions allows him to stay grounded and familiar with the student position. His work as both a concert musician and Live Music Now artist enables him to provide fresh insight to his students and pass on relevant knowledge that reflects the current nature of working in music. James’ teaching is grounded in the knowledge that exposure to the arts and music can promote personal growth, critical thinking and social mobility.

Since completing his Masters, James was a tutor at St Leonards School in St Andrews and Kelvinside Academy in Glasgow before relocating to London. He is now an Associate Guitar Teacher at Richmond Music Trust and Visiting Guitar Teacher at Bohunt School.
